Castine, U.S.A.

Castine Harbor

With its white clapboard and cedar-shingled houses, breathtaking ocean views, and working waterfront, Castine is the quintessential coastal town. Situated where the Penobscot Bay meets the Bagaduce and Penobscot rivers, Castine’s geography mandated a place in history.

Small shops line Main Street and restaurants overlook the harbor. Walks along the water are graced with heartfelt hellos from familiar faces. We don’t have traffic lights, strip malls, big box stores, or fast food. We have traded those conveniences for friendly people, common sense, and clean sidewalks.

Castine is located an hour from Bangor, Maine’s third largest city, to the north, and Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park to the east.

This is our home. We invite you to visit and explore the town’s architectural and natural beauty, and to use it as your launching point to explore Maine’s outdoors.
