Mission: The purpose of the SAAC is to represent the views and ideas of student-athletes at Maine Maritime Academy. The SAAC will provide communication between the student athletes and athletic administration as well as provide a positive image of athletics to the campus and community.
 

4.16.13 - SAAC Awards Banquet Honors Mariners
Maine Maritime honored its student-athletes at the annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Athletics Banquet in the Alfond Student Center Tuesday evening. Courtney Dufour and Benjamin Russell were honored as the Senior Scholar Athletes and Leah Jackson and Russell took home the Athlete of the Year awards for 2012-13. More>

 

4.17.13 - SAAC's Special Olympics Bocce Tournament Field Swells
Maine Maritime Athletics hosted its annual Special Olympics Bocce Tournament Tuesday. Students, coaches and administrators pitched in throughout the day to assist in the tournament, which featured a field twice the size of the previous tournament. More>

 
4.19.12 - SAAC Hosts Special Olympics Bocce Tournament
Maine Maritime Academy’s Department of Athletics hosted a Special Olympics Bocce Tournament on Ritchie Field Thursday afternoon. The Academy partnered with the Penobscot, Piscataquis and Hancock Counties Chapter of the Maine Special Olympics to bring the event to Castine for the second time in as many years. More>
 
4.17.12 - SAAC Honors Student-Athletes
Maine Maritime Academy honored its student-athletes at its Annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Awards Reception in the Alfond Student Center on the evening of Tuesday, April 17. Kayley Rodriguez and Nick Bourassa were honored as the Outstanding Senior Scholar Athletes, while Andrew DiSalvo and Leah Jackson were named the Athletes of the Year for 2011-2012. More>
 
4.14.11 - SAAC Honors Student-Athletes
The Maine Maritime Academy athletic department recognized and celebrated the achievements of Mariner student-athletes at their “Athletic Awards Night” on campus in Castine. Sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Athletic Director Eric Sabean and Senior Women’s Administrator Katrina Dagan presided over the evening’s festivities. In total, there were 66 scholar-athlete award winners recognized at the event. To be recognized as a Mariner scholar-athlete a student needs to be on the Dean's list academically, and have participated in a varsity sport. More>

The Maine Maritime Academy athletic department recognized and celebrated the achievements of Mariner student-athletes at their “Athletic Awards Night” on campus in Castine. Sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Athletic Director Jim Dyer and Senior Women’s Administrator Katrina Dagan presided over the evening’s festivities. In total, there were 47 scholar-athlete award winners recognized at the event including 5 dual sport athletes. To be recognized as a Mariner scholar-athlete a student needs to be on the Dean's list academically, and have participated in a varsity sport. More>
