| Mission: The purpose of the SAAC is to represent the views and ideas of student-athletes at Maine Maritime Academy. The SAAC will provide communication between the student athletes and athletic administration as well as provide a positive image of athletics to the campus and community. |

Olympics Bocce Tournament Maine Maritime Academy’s Department of Athletics hosted a Special Olympics Bocce Tournament on Ritchie Field Thursday afternoon. Athletes Maine Maritime Academy honored its student-athletes at its Annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Awards Reception in the Alfond Student Center on the evening of Tuesday, April 17. Kayley Rodriguez and Nick Bourassa were honored as the Outstanding Senior Scholar Athletes, while Andrew DiSalvo and Leah Jackson were named the Athletes of the Year for 2011-2012. More> |

SAAC Honors Student Athletes The Maine Maritime Academy athletic department recognized and celebrated the achievements of Mariner student-athletes at their “Athletic Awards Night” on campus in Castine. Sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Athletic Director Eric Sabean and Senior Women’s Administrator Katrina Dagan presided over the evening’s festivities. In total, there were 66 scholar-athlete award winners recognized at the event. To be recognized as a Mariner scholar-athlete a student needs to be on the Dean's list academically, and have participated in a varsity sport. More> |
