Maine Maritime’s Sports Information Office disseminates information to local and national media outlets for the Academy's 13 intercollegiate sports. The office compiles and maintains statistics and records, the MarinerSports.org web site, and the Academy's athletics photography. The Sports Information Office also issues press releases, digital media guides, brochures and other promotional items, and is available to assist members of the media in their coverage of the Mariners athletic teams.

Student-Athlete Information Forms
Maine Maritime student-athletes are asked to fill out a Student-Athlete Biography prior to the start of each academic year.

Phone Interviews
All interviews with Maine Maritime's athletes and coaches should be arranged through the Sports Information Office. It is preferred that members of the media wishing to conduct phone interviews supply a number for the student-athlete to contact the reporter. Phone numbers of student-athletes will not be released without both their written and verbal consent.

Post-game Interviews
On-site post-game interviews should be arranged through the Sports Information Director. A brief period for coaches and athletes to cool down will be observed.

Statistics/Services
Press guides, programs, notes and cumulative statistics will be distributed before each game. Complete statistical books will be available at the conclusion of all Maine Maritime home events.

Broadcasts/Webcasts
Maine Maritime broadcasts live video for home games in 11 sports with its streaming partner, Stretch Internet. Links are accessible from each sport's schedule page, as well as the “upcoming events” block on MarinerSports.org.

Visiting broadcasting outlets, student or commercial, wishing to originate from a competition venue should contact the Sports Information Office as far in advance of the date of competition as possible. Please contact the office, clearly stating the following:

  • Sport you wish to broadcast
  • Date of broadcast
  • Name of media outlet
  • Phone or Internet preference

Media Credentials
Media credentials are required for access to the press box at Ritchie Field and Press Row in Smith Gymnasium. Please request credentials 72 hours in advance of the contest. Credentials are limited by space availability, and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact the office, clearly stating the following:

  • Sport you wish to cover
  • Date of contest you wish to cover
  • The media organization or department you represent
  • Contact information for your assigning editor

Photography Credentials
Only credentialed photographers will be granted field access for photography. Credentials can be applied for through the Sports Information Office. Please contact the office, clearly stating the following:

  • Sport you wish to shoot
  • Date of contest you wish to shoot
  • The media organization or department you represent
