Bourassa Named NEFC Player of the Week

CASTINE, Maine – Senior running back, Nick Bourassa (Jay, Maine) was named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Player of the Week for his role in Maine Maritime Academy's 21-13 victory at Mass.-Dartmouth. Junior linebacker, Joel Chadbourne (Westbrook, Maine) was named to the Defensive Weekly Honor Roll.

Bourassa rushed nine times for 100 yards and two touchdowns in Maine Maritime's win at Mass.-Dartmouth. His two touchdowns dug the Mariners (2-0) out of a 13-6 hole. It was the eighth 100-yard rushing day of Bourassa's career. He finished the game with 200 all-purpose yards, gaining 100 yards on three kickoff returns.

Chadbourne posted 11 tackles, including three solo stops and broke up a pass to spearhead a defense that limited the Corsairs to 250 yards of offense on the afternoon.

The Mariners return to the grid on Saturday against Fitchburg State. It is Homecoming Weekend in Castine.
