Four Mariners All-Bogan

CASTINE, Maine – Four members of Maine Maritime Academy's football team were named to the New England Football Conference (NEFC) All-Bogan Division Second Team. Senior running back, Nick Bourassa (Jay, Maine), junior linebackers Joel Chadbourne (Westbrook, Maine) and Brock Lawrence (Benton, Maine), and sophomore defensive lineman, John Regis (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) were honored.

For Bourassa, the selection to the Second Team is his second in as many years. He was a First Team return specialist last year as well. Bourassa rushed 88 times for 615 yards and six touchdowns in 2011, averaging 7.0 yards per carry.

Despite missing several games to injury, Chadbourne was named to the Second Team for the second time in as many years. He was third on the team in total tackles with 58 stops, including 39 solo tackles and five for losses. Chadbourne broke up three passes and intercepted another. He also had a sack and fumble recover on the season.

Lawrence is making his first all-division appearance after finishing the season second on the team in tackles with 60 stops (34 solo). He intercepted a pair of passes and recovered a fumble.

Regis is also making his first All-Bogan appearance. He led the team with 5.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for losses of 40 yards. Regis piled up 38 tackles, including 23 solos, broke up two passes and recovered a fumble.
