FRAMINGHAM DEFEATS MAINE MARITIME IN COLBY CONSOLATION GAME

 

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Royce Veal (Dorchester, Mass.) had 11 of his team-high 16 points in the second half as Framingham State won the consolation game of the Colby College Men's Basketball Invitational with a 75-64 win against Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday.

 

Brendan Carter (South Boston, Mass.), an all-tournament team selection for Framingham, added eight points and seven rebounds. Allen St. Surin (Brockton, Mass.) added nine points and seven rebounds, while Layo Medina (Brockton, Mass.) and Ceasar Veal (Dorchester, Mass.) both had eight points. Medina also finished with a team-high four assists.

 

Paul Campbell (Camden, Maine) had a game-high 20 points for the Mariners (3-4). Shawn Dostie (Bowdoinham, Maine), an all-tourney selection, shot 5-for-6 from the field and had 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Tyler Pineo (Corinth, Maine) also had 12 points and Dom Drake (Brewer, Maine) finished with a game-high 10 assists and added three steals.
