BANGOR, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball fell to Husson University 90-57 on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action inside of Newman Gymnasium.
With the loss, the Mariners fall to 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in the conference, while the Eagles improve to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the NAC. The Mariners return to action next Friday, when they travel to Vermont to take on Castleton at 7:30 pm.
The Eagles took a 39-20 advantage into halftime and held on for the victory.
Adam Richardson (Bradley, Maine) led the Mariners with 15 points, eight rebounds and a steal, while Andrew Liebert (Plano, Texas) tallied a career-high eight points and also added three rebounds, and a steal and Nick Judge (Cushing, Maine) and Riley Jorgenson (Vienna, Va.) each contributed seven points.
Raheem Anderson led the Eagles with 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Kyanti Blyden added 13 points, four rebounds and an assist and Bruce St. Peter and Justin Martin added 10 points each.
The Eagles shot 47.1 percent from the floor compared the Mariners 30.8 percent shooting and held a 47-38 edge in rebounds.
