CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy's Adam Richardson (Bradley, Maine) has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week.
Richardson led the Mariners against a trio of tough non-conference teams. The junior just missed out on averaging a triple-double on the week with 21 points and 10.7 rebounds and eight assists per game, to go along with 1.3 steals and one block per game. The forward also shot 61.1 percent (22-of-36) from the floor and 90.5 percent (19-of-21) from the line. In the Mariners' 82-75 loss to St. Joe's he led his team with a double-double of 16 points (8-for-10) and 10 rebounds, while adding eight assists, two steals and a block. He followed that up with another double-double, with a career-high 29 points and 11 rebounds to go along with three assists, one steal and one block in an overtime loss to Wheelock. He also tied the Maine Maritime single-game record for free throw percentage (100%) when he went a perfect nine-for-nine from the charity stripe against the Wildcats. In the Mariners' overtime loss to Bates, Richardson tallied his first career triple-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, while adding one steal and one block.
