Castine, ME - Chris Keiley tallied seven goals and six assists and the host Maine Maritime Academy Mariners scored 11 first-quarter goals en route to a 29-1 victory over Green Mountain College in North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action Saturday.
Green Mountain falls to 1-4 (0-2) on the season while Maine Maritime levels their record at 2-2 (1-1).
Keiley opened his account at the 5:56 mark of the opening quarter with the seventh for MMA before tacking on two more markers inside the ensuing 45 seconds. Tom Houle tallied his first of four in the waning moments of the quarter giving the hosts an 11-0 lead.
Eric Hansel (Essex, Conn.) tallied the Eagles' only goal to start the second quarter before the Mariners added eight more, heading into the break up 19-1.
MMA notched eight more in the third and two in the fourth, the final coming at the 12:02 mark.
Maritime outshot Green Mountain 57-10 on the afternoon and won 28-of-32 face-offs.
