Colby Pounds MMA 21-4

 

CASTINE, Maine --- James Wyse had three goals and three assists, John Jennings had a game-high four goals, and John LoVerme finished with one goal and three assists as the Colby College men's lacrosse team led 13-0 at halftime on the way to a 21-4 non-conference win at Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday night.

 

Colby moves to 6-6 overall while MMA drops to 5-4 overall.

 

The Mariners got two goals from Brian Corain (Berwick, ME), and one each from Andrew DiSalvo (Glastonbury, CT) and Wade Mondoux (No. Berwick, ME). MMA was out shot  57-18 in the match.

 

John Moriarty had one goal and two assists, while Jonathan McIvor, Keith Fairbrother, Chris Barrand, and Alex Boches all had one goal and one assist. Ian Deveau finished with a pair of assists and the Mules received single goals from Derrik Flahive, Garth Franklin, and Scott Margolis.

 

Craig Bunker was a perfect 9-for-9 in face-off attempts to up his face-off percentage to .729 and added eight groundballs to reach 97 for the season. Bjorn Knutson was 6-for-9 in face-offs and had six groundballs for the Mules.

 

Erik Milles (Bangor, ME) took the loss in goal for MMA while makeing 17 saves. Patrick Gilligan played about 47 minutes in goal and made three stops for Colby.
