CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime won its fourth-straight game with a 21-1 win over Green Mountain in a North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse game Saturday. The Mariners improved to 4-6 overall, 4-1 NAC while the Eagles fell to 1-8, 0-4.
Maine Maritime led 11-0 midway through the second quarter on three goals from Nicholas Betti and A.J. Larrabee, two by Bronson Guimond and one each from Alex Hermes, Nick Snelling and Gabe Giguere. Guimond assisted on four scores and Hermes on one in the first quarter and a half.
Green Mountain got on the board when Charlie Petrick found Dakota Keller before Betti hooked up with Guimond just before the half to give the Mariners a 12-1 halftime lead.
Cameron Wyman scored twice in the third and Snelling, Giguere and Guimond struck once for Maine Maritime. Betti assisted on two of the scores and Wade Severance and Snelling assisted on one each. Wyman, Larrabee, Giguere and Guimond all scored in the fourth on assists from Betti, Snelling (twice) and Wyman.
Jack Tragert (14 of 17), Hermes (6 of 8) and Tim Grant (1 of 1) combined for 21 of 26 wins from the X for the Mariners. Gavin Cote picked up the win in goal with one save while Luke Carey took the loss.
The Mariners return to action Sunday hosting Castleton at 3 p.m.
