CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime won its fourth-straight game with a 10-7 win over Husson in a North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse game Wednesday. The Mariners remained perfect at 5-0 in the NAC, 5-4 overall, while the Eagles fell to 3-2, 3-4.
Bronson Guimond led Maine Maritime with four points on three scores and an assist. Brady Harrison netted two shots and Nicholas Betti, Nick Snelling, Justin Lovely, Peter Moore and A.J. Larrabee one each.
Brandon Corbo and Vinny Visconti led Husson with two scores.
The Mariners opened the game with a 3-0 lead on a pair of scores by Guimond and one from Lovely to lead 3-0. Scores from Nolan Brown and Visconti made it a one-point game, 3-2, with 10:29 left before the break before Harrison found the back of the net just before the half to put MMA ahead 4-2 at the break.
Moore found Guimond early in the third to make it 5-2 before Kevin Nolan and Corbo netted consecutive shots for the Eagles to put Husson back within one, 5-4, with 7:52 left in the third. Snelling scored two minutes later for the Mariners and Larrabee deposited a pass from Guimond with 2:14 on the clock. Visconti made it 7-5 with a goal with 44 seconds left in the third.
Moore opened the fourth with a man-up score before Martin scored a minute later. Consecutive scores from Betti and Harrison gave Maine Maritime a 10-6 advantage before Corbo scored the final goal of the game with 3:50 left to play.
Maine Maritime returns to action Saturday, 12 p.m., hosting New England College.
