A 2010 graduate of Springfield College, Gunningsmith will work the lacrosse sideline for the first time in his career. Coach Gunningsmith will oversee the extra-man offense and man down units. He will also coach the team's long stick middies.

Gunningsmith joined the MMA athletics staff as a football assistnat in February of 2011. He coaches the Mariners’ linebackers, a position he knows well after four successful seasons as a rover at Springfield College.  Gunningsmith is a veteran of the camp circuit in New England, having most recently worked the Boston College and Vermont All-Star camps. In addition to coaching linebackers at camps, he has worked with tight ends and defensive backs.
