Five Mariners Named All-Academic
Five members of Maine Maritime Academy’s fall sports teams were recognized for their successes in the classroom. Jeremy Bullard (Manhattan, Kan.) of the men’s cross country team, Kari Jones (Nobleboro, Maine) of the women’s soccer team, Jenna King (Old Town, Maine) and Kayley Rodriguez (Quincy, Ill.) of the volleyball team, and Benjamin Russell (Farmington, Maine) of the men’s soccer team were named to the North Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team.

Soccer Teams Angelic
Maine Maritime Academy’s athletes continue to spread the holiday cheer. Members of the Mariners’ men’s and women’s soccer teams have participated in the Salvation Army Angel Tree for the holiday season.

Russell Named Academic All-American
Maine Maritime Academy men’s soccer player, Benjamin Russell of Farmington, Maine, was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) / Capital One Academic All-America Division III Third Team. Russell is the Mariners first Academic All-American since Nicole St. Pierre earned the distinction in volleyball in 2008. He is the soccer program’s first Academic All-American since 1995 when B.C. Voyou attained the status.

Dylan Burr and Benjamin Russell were named to the North Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer All-Tournament team for their roles in Maine Maritime Academy’s postseason.

Russell Named Capital One Academic All-District
Maine Maritime Academy midfielder, Benjamin Russell of Farmington, Maine, was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Capital One Academic All-District 1 Soccer First Team. District 1 includes all of New England and New York State. All-District First Team selections advance to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot.

Three Mariners Named All-NAC
Three members of the Maine Maritime Academy men’s soccer team were named to the All-North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Team when it was released on Thursday. Abdullah Alkhayyat was named to the First Team, while Benjamin Russell and Nate Tipton was named to the second team.

Husson Ends Marners Title Hopes
Philip Frost scored two goals and assisted on another, but it was Tyler Metevier who netted the game winner as Husson defeated Maine Maritime Academy 4-0 in the North Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer Semifinals.

Good as Gold
Benjamin Russell (Farmington, Maine) scored the golden goal as Maine Maritime Academy defeated Thomas College 1-0 in double-overtime of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Quarterfinals. Russell’s goal avenged a 4-1 loss to the Terriers (10-7) last week and propelled the Mariners (9-4-3) into the NAC Semifinals where they will face Husson.
