CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime senior Sam Goda (Eliot, Maine) was named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Co-Player of the Week on Monday. She shares the honor with Husson senior Brianna Hanscom. Both reached their 1,000th career points last week.
Goda averaged a double-double of 16.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in a 2-2 week. She scored a career-high 27 points in the Mariners win over Colby-Sawyer, the Chargers first setback in NAC play. She also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked a shot on the night she scored her 1,000th career point. Goda was named to the Mariner Classic All-Tournament Team after putting up 31 points and collecting 22 rebounds in games against Salve Regina and Tufts.
Hanscom also scored her 1,000th career-point as part of a 34-point week for the senior forward. Hanscom averaged 11.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as the Eagles went 1-2, splitting a pair of NAC contests. Hanscom scored a team-high 15 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in the Eagles win over New England College.
Maine Maritime returns to action on Tuesday against Maine-Farmington.
