Goda Earns Fourth All-NAC Honor
CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime Academy senior forward, Sam Goda (Eliot, Maine) was named to the All-North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Basketball Second Team when the squad was released on Wednesday.
The All-Conference designation is the fourth for Goda, who attained First Team status each of the past two seasons and honorable mention as a first-year student. She joins Rachel Merrill '02 and Shelley Gott '07 as the only Mariners to earn four All-NAC honors.
Goda averaged 13.9 points and 8.5 rebounds, while logging 25.9 minutes per contest this season. In NAC play, Goda has posted 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. The senior posted double-doubles in nine games this year, with her Mariners going 8-1 in those games. She posted a career-high 27 points in a NAC tilt against Colby-Sawyer back in January, the same night she tallied her 1,000th career point.
Maine Maritime owns a record of 14-12 in 2012. The Mariners will face Castleton State in the NAC Semifinals on Friday.
