    UMaine-Farmington withstood a late Maine Maritime rally, by sinking 3 of 4 free throws in the final 13 seconds, to earn a 56-52 win in a North Atlantic Conference women's basketball quarterfinals Tuesday. The Beavers improved to 11-13 and advanced to Friday's semifinals where they will take on Castleton. The Mariners season ended at 14-11.

    Casey Everest and Leah Jackson combined for 31 points to help Maine Maritime to a 58-35 win over Johnson State in a North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game Saturday. The Mariners finished the regular season 14-11 overall, 11-7 NAC. MMA clinched the No. 4 seed in next week's NAC playoffs and will host No. 5 Maine-Farmington Tuesday. Tip-off time will be determined Sunday.
