The Lady Mariners continued their strong work in the classroom collecting a third consecutive Team Academic Award from the NSCAA.
In 2009 the Lady Mariners tied a school record for
victories with a 10-7-1 record, qualified for the conference
tournament for the tenth straight season, and advanced to the
conference semifinals. Evans coached four players who received
conference recognition at the end of the year. Katie
Hutchinson and Diana Manatt-Rogers were first team all conference
selections, while Megan Russell was selected to the second
team. Freshman Callie Thompson was chosen as the NAC Rookie

Academic Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of
America for the second consecutive year. His 2008 squad
