The Facility: Besides the residence hall, Alexander Field House may be the most heavily used building on campus. The facility is used by a wide array of constituencies throughout the day and into the evening. The field house is large enough to accommodate a full field practice in soccer, football or lacrosse. There are two basketball and two tennis courts running across the Mondo vulcanized rubber surface. The field house hosts Academy events including convocation and commencement, as well as the annual career fair. It is the gathering place for the regiment’s morning muster, the classroom for Maine Maritime and Adams School physical education, and the playground for pickup, club and intramural activities. The back corner of the field house hosts a 25-foot rock wall for recreational use. Morning, noon and night, the field house is a constant hub for activity.
