Westfeldt returns to the Mariners Coaching Staff for his third season as an Assistant Coach, after coaching Wide Receivers in 2018 and Defensive Backs in 2017.
Westfeldt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Grinnell College in Iowa, where he was a four-year letterman at defensive back, in 2008 and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Colorado in 2016.
At Grinnell, Westfeldt was a four-year letterman and three-year starter for the Pioneers football team. He was voted captain by his teammates and coaches in 2007 and was named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week in 2007.
Prior to Maine Maritime, Westfeldt was an Assistant Football Coach at Rampart High School in Colorado Springs from 2014-17, where he served as the team's Defensive Backs Coach and assisted in film breakdown, strength and conditioning and equipment management. While at Rampart, Westfeldt helped lead the team to the first league championship in 15 years and two state playoff appearances.
From 2009-2014, Westfeldt served as an Assistant Coach, coaching wide receivers and defensive backs at Aspen High School in Aspen, Colorado. During that time he helped lead the team to a 37-18 record, including five playoff appearances and two playoff victories. Westfeldt served as the Defensive Backs Coach, Wide Receivers Coach, Outside Linebackers Coach at the Varsity level and was the JV Head Coach from 2011-14, after serving as the JV team's Defensive Coordinator for two seasons.
