Reed returns to Maine Maritime Academy to coach the quarterbacks and running backs for his fourth season on the sidelines with the Mariners, after previously serving as an Assistant Coach during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Reed also serves as the team's recruiting coordinator.

In his return to Castine, Reed helped boost the Mariners' passing attack, which led the NEWMAC in yards per completion (21.5) and yards per attempt (8.0).

Reed returns to Castine after serving as the Recruiting Coordinator at Grinnell College in Iowa. From 2014-2016, Reed served as the Wide Receivers Coach at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. During that time, he mentored two-time All-Midwest Conference wide receiver Ilir Emini, who set single-season records in total receptions (88), most receptions in game (16), and recorded six games with 100 receiving yards or more. Emini also set the career record for receptions with 233, with 170 receptions coming under the watch of Reed.

During his first tenure at Maine Maritime, Reed was part of the Mariners' explosive 2013 offense that led the nation in rushing (372.6 YPG). That statistic garnered a national rushing title for the Mariners. Reed also assisted with the quarterbacks during his time in Castine, while developing the passing game on offense.

On the side, Reed is an online adjunct professor in the psychology, sociology, and wellness department for Southern New Hampshire University.

Reed played college football at Saint Anselm College and Castleton University. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration – Sports Management, from Southern New Hampshire University. In 2014, Reed earned his Masters of Science in Sports Coaching and Psychology from the United States Sports Academy.

Reed, a native of Amherst, N.H., currently resides in Castine.
