Series History: The Owls are 33-18 all-time against the Mariners, including a 18-13 record when playing in Castine. UMPI has won the last two matchups. In the last 15 meetings the Mariners hold a 10-5 advantage.

Last Meeting: The Mariners last faced the Owls in 2014, in Castine. Presque Isle came away with the 86-67 victory.

Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball fell to Colby College 87-68, on Tuesday night inside of Wadsworth Gym.

Riley Jorgenson (Vienna, Va.) scored the Mariners' first eight points, giving the visitors a 8-6 lead with 15:37 to go in the first half. The Mules went on a 19-0 run with nine minutes to go and took a 41-21 lead into halftime.

Colby's early lead proved to be too much for the Mariners to overcome and the Mules hung on for the victory.

Jorgenson scored a game-high 22 points, to go along with four rebounds and two steals, while Adam Richardson (Bradley, Maine) added 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Sam Jefferson led Colby with 20 points, three rebounds, three steals and a block, both Matt Hanna and Noah Tyson contributed 12 points and Wallace Tucker added 10 points.

The Mariners shot 44.9 percent from the floor and 47.4 percent from three-point land, while the Mules shot 42.9 percent from the floor and 38.2 percent from beyond the arc. The Mules held a 40-32 advantage in rebounds.

University of Maine at Presque Isle's Last Game: The University of Maine at Presque Isle men's basketball team went to overtime to pull out a 93-82 win in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Wednesday evening against Thomas College.

After an early back-and-forth, UMPI eventually took control and held a 31-19 lead midway through the first half on a KJ Minter jumper on an assist from Eric Anthony. Thomas quickly closed the gap, outscoring the Owls 21-15 through the rest of the period to get back to within 6 points, 46-40 in favor of UMPI at the halftime break.

The Terriers came out hot in the second, beginning the half on a 9-2 run started by a Lovegeurson Fleurine layup to take a 49-48 lead five minutes in. Thomas built their lead to double-digits going up 72-62 with less than seven minutes remaining. UMPI battled back, with Shyquinn Dix hitting a last second layup to knot the game at 78 to 78 and forcing overtime. 

The Owls kept their momentum going in the extra frame, outscoring Thomas 15-4 as a JahVion Lockridge layup and two Griffin Guerrette free throws kick-started the extra period for UMPI as they went on to the 93 to 82 victory.

Dix led the Owls with 29 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Guerrette scored 25 points while Te'Von Hines and Luke Petersen each added 11 points and Petersen pulled down five boards.

For Thomas, Lovegeurson Fleurine recorded a double-double, leading the Terriers with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Justin Butler added 15 points, five rebounds and three assists off the bench, while Jordon Goodson notched 12 points.

The Mariners: After 13 games the Mariners average 73.3 points, 35.1 rebounds, and 17.5 assists per game, while averaging 46.9 percent from the floor, 37.4 percent from the three-point line and 71.4 percent from the line.

Adam Richardson leads the Mariners with 17.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while Nicholas DePatsy (Waldoboro, Maine) leads the Mariners with 1.4 steals per game and averages 13.6 points per game and Riley Jorgenson averages 12.4 points per game.

The Owls: After 16 games the Owls average 75.1 points, 39.3 rebounds and 13.6 assists per game, while shooting 44.0 percent from the floor, 35.2 percent from three-point land and 67.3 percent from the line.

Shyquinn Dix leads the Owls with 17.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game, DeAndre Duncombe averages 17.0 points per game and Te'Von Hines averages 10.3 points. Griffin Guerrette averages 10.2 points per game.
