Series History: The Bengals hold a 18-8 record over the Mariners in 26 meetings. The Mariners are 5-7 when hosting UMFK.

Last Meeting: The two teams last met on December 12, 2009 at UMaine-Presque Isle. The Bengals took that meeting, 87-66. 

Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Adam Richardson (Bradley, Maine) tallied a season high-25 points to lead Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball to a 68-66 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over UMaine-Presque Isle on Saturday afternoon inside of Smith Gymnasium.

The two teams battled closely in the first half, until Riley MacLeod (Bucksport, Maine) made a pair from the line and hit a jumper to give the Mariners a 36-35 lead and Richardson made two from the line to send the Mariners into halftime with a 38-35 advantage.

The second half was similar to the first, with the teams exchanging the lead numerous times. Richardson hit a layup with two minutes remaining in the game to give the Mariners a 61-58 advantage and Nicholas DePatsy (Waldoboro, Maine) pulled down a crucial defensive rebound and splashed a three on the other side of the court to put the Mariners up, 64-58. UMPI closed the lead to three, but DePatsy and Kimani Anderson (Houston, Texas) hit their free throws in the final seconds to keep the Mariners on top and a last-second three from Shyquinn Dix was not enough for the Owls.

Richardson led the Mariners with a game-high 25 points, shooting 10-of-12 from the floor, five rebounds and five assists. 

DePatsy contributed 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal and Anderson added 12 points, six rebounds and an assist. 

Griffin Guerrette led the Owls with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal and Luke Peterson added 13 points and an assist. Both Shyquinn Dix and Te'Von Hines tallied 12 points, Hines added eight rebounds, two assists and a steal and Dix contributed four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The Mariners shot 50.0 percent from the floor and 81.3 percent from the line, while the Owls shot 38.6 percent from the floor and 28.6 percent from the line. Maine Maritime held a 35-31 advantage in rebounds.

UMaine-Fort Kent's Last Game: The Bengals fell to NHTI, 103-84 on Friday, January 18. 

Chance Cole led the Bengals with 32 points, eight assists, six rebounds and a steal. Both Jarid Walton and Patrick Pauwels added 13 points and Jacob Powell contributed 10 points. 

The Bengals shot 44.4 percent from the floor, 43.8 percent from beyond the arc and 54.4 percent from the line. 

The Mariners: After 14 games the Mariners average 72.9 points, 35.1 rebounds, and 17.4 assists per game, while averaging 47.0 percent from the floor, 37.2 percent from the three-point line and 72.1 percent from the line. 

Adam Richardson leads the Mariners with 18.4 points and 4.4 assists per game while Nicholas DePatsy leads the Mariners with 1.4 steals per game and averages 14.1 points per game and Riley Jorgenson (Vienna, Va.) averages 11.5 points per game. Both Richardson and Jorgenson lead the Mariners with 6.6 rebounds per game,

The Bengals: After 23 games the Bengals average 74.1 points, 39.4 rebounds and 13.1 assists per game, while shooting 40.8 percent from the floor, 31.6 percent from three-point land and 67.6 percent from the line.

Chance Cole averages 17 points per game to lead Fort Kent. Jarid Walton averages 15.4 points per game while leading the team with 6.8 rebounds per game, Johnathon Caldwell averages 13.2 points per game while leading the team with 1.7 steals per game and Troy Williams averages 11 points per game while leading the team with 3.5 assists per game.
