CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy's Adam Richardson (Bradley, Maine) has been named to the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) All-State Second Team.
Richardson also earned North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Year and Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year honors. Richardson led the Mariners and the NAC in field goal percentage this season, averaging 20.1 points per game against conference opponents and 18.6 points per game overall.
The forward net 465 points this season, leading the Mariners and all of the conference players, while shooting over 70 percent from the floor in six conference games this season, and over 80 percent in two games. An offensive threat and leader on the court, the forward averaged 7.5 baskets for every 11.6 attempts and stayed on the court for over 36 minutes a game, playing wire to wire in four NAC matchups. Richardson also hit 66 percent of his free throw attempts in conference games (71.1 percent overall) and handed out a league-leading 71 assists (5.1 per game).
Over the entire season, he dished out 114 assists (4.6 per game), also leading the NAC. The three-time NAC Player of the Week, grabbed 6.0 rebounds per game, including 5.2 defensive rebounds per game. Richardson tallied three double-doubles this season, including two against conference opponents.
