CRANSTON, R.I. – Joey Moir (Bangor, Maine) led Maine Maritime Academy golf at the two-day Wildcat Spring Invitational hosted by Johnson & Wales University on Friday and Saturday.
Moir carded a 79 on day one and 82 on day two to lead the Mariners, tying for 36th place overall.
The Mariners finished 18th out of 19 teams with a team score of 706. Husson University claimed the team victory with a 602, followed by Western New England with a 614. Western New England's John Abbott claimed medalist honors carding a 73 on both days for a 146.
Connor Mersch (Holderness, N.H.) tied for 83rd place with a score of 178 (86-92), followed closely by Chance Whittemore (Skowhegan, Maine) in 86th with a 180 (96-84). Elliott Sibley (Lincoln, Maine) and T. Scott Hart (Franklin, Tenn.) rounded out the Mariners in 90th place and 94th place respectively.
