Mariners Golf Competes at Husson Invitational

BANGOR, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy competed in the Husson Invitational on Saturday at Bangor Municipal Golf Course, finishing 4th out of 6 competing teams.

Senior Logan Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) and junior Connor Mersch (Holderness, N.H) led the Mariners each shooting an 80 on the par-71 course, finishing tied for eighth out of 30 golfers.

Junior Carter Ward (Lincoln, Maine) finished tied for 12th with a round of 82. Senior Chance Whittemore (Skowhegan, Maine) finished tied for 15th with a score of 83. Freshman Nick Hamer (Tafton, Penn.) rounded out the five Mariners competing finishing 24th, carding a 94.

Husson University took home team first place with a team score of 304 and Thomas College finished second with a score of 322. Hussons Tyler Williams and Nick Mazurek shared low medalist honors each carding a three over 74 on the day.

Maine Maritime returns to action Sunday, September 22nd when they travel to Waterville Country Club to compete in the Farmington Invitational at 10:00am.
