Peacock Leads Mariners at Farmington Invitational

WATERVILLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy competed at the UMaine Farmington Invitational on Sunday at the Waterville Country Club, tying for sixth out of nine teams.

Senior Logan Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) led the Mariners, carding an 80 on the par-70 course, finishing in 16th place out of 45 golfers. Senior Chance Whittemore (Skowhegan, Maine) and freshman Sam Sharpe (Brunswick, Maine) each shot an 83, finishing tied for 21st.

Junior Connor Mersch (Holderness, N.H.) carded an 85, finishing tied for 29th, while senior Zachary Foss (Saco, Maine) rounded out the Mariner-five shooting a 95, placing tied for 40th.

University of Southern Maine took home first place with a score of 306 and University of New England placed second with a score of 314. Southern Maine's Tristan Dundas was the low medalist with a two-over 72 on the day, one shot ahead of UNE's Dylan Andrews who carded a 73.

The Mariners return to action on Wednesday, September 25th, when they head to Cape Arundel Golf Course in Kennebunkport, Maine to compete in the UNE Invitational.
