Wednesday's Game: Maine Maritime Academy (0-0) at Gordon College (0-0), 3:00 p.m., Brigham Athletic Complex, Wenham, Mass.

Series History: The Fighting Scots hold a 3-0 all-time advantage over the Mariners. All previous matchups were played at Gordon, giving the Fighting Scots a 3-0 advantage when hosting.

Last Meeting: The two teams last met on March 4, 2013 with the Fighting Scots coming away with the 11-7 victory.

Preseason Polls: The Fighting Scots have been selected to finish eighth in the Commonwealth Coast Conference, after a 1-14 campaign in 2016.

The Mariners went 5-10 overall last season and made it to the team's ninth-straight NAC Tournament. Maine Maritime fell in the North Atlantic Conference Quarterfinals to Lyndon. The NAC preseason poll will be announced on Tuesday, February 28.

Team Captains: The two teams will be lead by their captains.

Juniors Alec Grant (Hollis, N.H.), Alex Grant-Roy (Biddeford, Maine), Justin Kretzmer (Glastonbury, Conn.), and Dean Samuelson (Southbury, Conn.) have been named captains for the Mariners.

Graduate student Hunter Ward, seniors Will Brown and Brendan Sweeney and junior Nico Manganiello have been named captains for Gordon.

The Mariners: Maine Maritime will return their top five scorers from last season: Dean Samuelson (41 g, 18 a), Brendan Broderick (22 g, 16 a), Chase Whittemore (19 g, 2 a), Michael Martel (16 g, 5a) and Alex Grant-Roy (15 g, 9 a).

The Fighting Scots: Gordon will return two of their top five scorers from last season: Nico Manganiello (24 g, 6 a) and Austin Early (11 g, 4 a).

In Net: Both teams will be looking to a fresh face in net, the Mariners will call on freshman goalie Daniel Lee, while the Fighting Scots will turn to freshmen Scott Conte and Jay Gallipo.

Coaching Staffs: Bob Aronson returns to lead the Mariners for his second season, and is rejoined by assistant coach Bill Eisenhardt. Assistant coach James Dillon enters his first season on the sidelines for the Mariners.

Warren Shumate enters his eighth season with Gordon and will be rejoined by his long time assistant, Jay Mayes.
