The Mariners jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, on their way to the 18-0 victory.
Sawyer Watson (Topsham, Maine) led the Mariners with five goals, one assist and two ground balls, while Zeke Tocci (Naples, Maine) net a hat-trick to go along with two assists, five ground balls and one caused turnover Justin Kretzmer led the Mariners defensively with five caused turnovers.
Travis Benson led the Badgers with nine ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Isaiah Weston earned the victory in net for the Mariners, stopping two shots in the first half, while Matthew Emery (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) tallied two saves in the second half. Johnson's Patrick Bell tallied nine saves in the loss.
Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Zeke Tocci scored a career-high five goals and dished out two assists to lead Maine Maritime Academy men's lacrosse to a 12-2 victory over Thomas College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action last Saturday afternoon at Smith Field.
The Terriers struck first on a man-up goal from Harry Herald, but Tocci and Sawyer Watson added goals just 12 seconds apart to give the Mariners a 2-1 lead. Jack Gallagher added a goal for Thomas at 3:09, but the Mariners shut out the Terriers for the remainder of the game, while adding 10 goals to cruise to the 12-2 victory.
Tocci added three ground balls to go along with his career and game-high five goals and two assists while Watson finished the afternoon with three goals, an assist and four ground balls.
Jayden Wilson (Lewiston, Maine) added two goals, two assists, three ground balls and a caused turnover and both Alex Snowman (Sarasota, Fla.) and Max Barton (Yarmouth, Maine) tallied the other goals for the Mariners. Snowman also went 10-of-16 on the faceoff.
In net, Matthew Emery tallied 18 saves for the victory for Maine Maritime.
Gallagher led the Terriers with a goal and an assist, Jarrod Leonardi led the team with a game-high four caused turnovers and Johnathan Wilcox led the team with four ground balls. In net, Damon Westhaver tallied 16 saves in the loss.
The Mariners dominated ground balls 43-18 and faceoffs won, 10-6.
NVU-Johnson's Last Game: The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's lacrosse team fell to SUNY Delhi on Saturday afternoon at Norwich University, 22-3 in NAC action.
Dave Legris, Josh Benak and Ryan Palmisano tallied goals for the Badgers. Benak recorded a team high four ground balls. The Broncos came out strong in the first quarter outscoring the Badgers 5-1 taking a demanding lead.
The Mariners: After six games the Mariners average 6.67 goals and 32.17 shots per game, while averaging 25.0 percent on man-up opportunities, 45.5 percent on the faceoff and 71.6 percent on clear attempts.
Zeke Tocci leads the team with 17 goals, Jayden Wilson leads the team with eight assists and William Evon leads the Mariners with 33 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. Alex Snowman (Sarasota, Fla.) leads the Mariners on the faceoff, going 56-of-112.
