FORT KENT, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's soccer fell to the University of Maine at Fort Kent 5-0, on Monday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Bengals got on the board in the 11th minute when Rodney Witter connected with teammate Shawn Genus. Genus set up teammate James Blanchett in the 15th minute to make it 2-0.
Witter made it 3-0 in the 25th minute and Blanchett added his second goal of the game in the 30th minute to give the hosts a four-goal lead. Nicholas Gayle closed out the game's scoring in the 34th minute to give the Bengals a 5-0 victory.
Maine Maritime's Andrew Coleman (Saco, Maine) tallied eight saves in the loss, while Butch Forbes earned the victory in net for the Bengals.
The Mariners fall to 2-7-2 overall, while the Bengals remain undefeated at 10-0. Maine Maritime returns to action on Wednesday, October 11 at the University of Southern Maine for a 4:00 pm non-conference matchup.
