Sunday's Game: #6 Maine Maritime Academy (4-9-3) at #3 Thomas College (8-8-1), 12:00 p.m., Smith Field, Waterville, Maine.

Series History: Thomas College holds a 30-9-5 all-time record over the Mariners. In the last five meetings the Terriers hold a 3-1-1 advantage. In the playoffs the two teams have met twice, with each team coming away with a win.

Last Meeting: The Mariners and Terriers battled to a 1-1 draw on September 19 at Ritchie Field.

The first 30 minutes of the game proved to be an extremely physical back-and-forth contest, until Maine Maritime Academy tallied the first goal of the game in the 31st minute. Colby Clarke (Ellsworth, Maine) drew his defender out and passed a ball in front of the net to Liam Welch (Temple, Maine) who beat the charging goalie for his second goal of the season.

The Mariners had another great scoring chance later in the quarter, when Ike Doiron's (Wilton, Maine) initial shot smacked the crossbar and Evan Backus (Farmington, Maine) kicked a ball into net, but Backus was called offsides, keeping it 1-0.

Thomas College entered halftime with a narrow 7-6 edge in shots, but the Mariners held the 1-0 lead. 

In the 57th minute, MacQuille Walker tied the game at 1-1, when his teammate's shot bounced off a defender and he snuck the ball past Maine Maritime keeper Joshua Reeks (Bedford, N.H.).

The two teams continued to battle, but ended regulation deadlocked at 1-1. The Terriers outshot the Mariners 7-2 in the two overtime periods, but Reeks was sharp in net to preserve the draw.

Reeks ended the evening with nine stops, while the Terriers' goalie Jonathan Dutka recorded three saves.

Last Playoff Meeting: The two teams last met in the playoffs on October 31, 2012. The Terriers came away with the 4-0 victory at Thomas.

Maine Maritime Academy This Season: The Mariners opened up their 2017 campaign with a 2-0 victory of the University of New England on September 1, but fell in the next three meetings until battling to a draw with Thomas. Maine Maritime ended the season 2-2-1 to clinch the No. 6 seed in the NAC Tournament.

On the road, the Mariners went 2-5-1 this season.

Thomas College This Season: The Terriers dropped their season opener, but finished the season with four wins and tie in the last seven games of their season to take the third seed in the NAC Playoffs.

When hosting, the Terriers went 5-4 this season.
