CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime Academy's Matt Caron (Scarborough, Maine) has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the second time this season and teammate Jack Davis (Belfast, Maine) has been named the NAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Caron recorded seven points in the Mariners' 2-0 week. First he tallied the game-winning goal and two assists in the Mariners' 7-0 shutout over Unity on Monday, and then scored the equalizer, and took the throw in that led to the game-winning goal, in the team's 2-1 conference win over UMaine-Farmington.
Davis was an instrumental member of the Mariner defense that held opponents to just one goal, and seven shots on goal, in two games. He led the Mariners in a 7-0 shutout over Unity early in the week, and then displayed impressive goal line defense to preserve the lead in a 2-1 conference win over UMaine-Farmington on Saturday.
