Ike Doiron is in his second season as an Assistant Coach for the Maine Maritime Academy Men's Soccer program. He joined the staff after graduating from Maine Maritime Academy in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering Technology.
Doiron was named as an All-Conference player and to the All-Tournament team during the 2017 season. Serving as a four-year member and two-year captain of the Mariners, he and teammate Tom Samson were the first seniors in program history to be selected to represent the North Atlantic Conference in the NEISL (New England Intercollegiate Soccer League) Senior all-star game in 2018.
"I am extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity to be back with the program and contributing to the team's success," said Doiron. "I am really looking forward to helping maintain the intensity and passion that I sought to bring everyday as a player. I can't wait to get going and help this team compete for a conference championship."
In addition to serving as Assistant Coach of the Mariners, Ike also works as an Assistant Engineer with Lindblad Expeditions - National Geographic based out of the Pacific - Northwest.
"I can't tell you how thrilled I am that Ike is able to return to our program," said Head Men's Soccer Coach Billy Shannon, "He's been such a big part of Mariners Soccer the last four years as a player and I'm incredibly excited he's decided to return and continue to give back to the program in his new role as assistant coach. His knowledge and experience is going to be a great asset to all of our players and his professionalism and work ethic is going to be huge help to the staff."
