Jake Weinshank joins the Maine Maritime Academy men's soccer program for his first season as an Assistant Coach.
Most recently, Weinshank earned his Master's in Anthropology and Environmental Policy from the University of Maine in May of 2017, where he also served as the Head Coach of the UMaine Men's Club Soccer Team. Before UMaine, Weinshank was Director of the Soccer Program at Camp Skylemar in Naples, Maine.
Weinshank earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Salve Regina University in 2015, where he was also a four-year starter on the men's soccer team. Weinshank was named the 2014 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Scholar Athlete of the Year, and graduated with the highest cumulative GPA by any student-athlete from Salve. In 2015 he was also awarded Salve Regina's Distinguished Senior Scholar-Athlete award and in 2014 was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-East Region Team. He was named the Offensive Player of the 2012 CCC Playoffs and helped lead his team to a NCAA Tournament appearance in that same year.
Weinshank represented the Triangle United Fútbol Club in the United Soccer League Super Y league during the summer of 2015, where he was the leading scorer on a team that finished fourth in the USL Super Y National Tournament. He also played for the Triangle United Soccer Club in North Carolina, a Division I Soccer Club, where he was a team captain and three-year leading goal scorer.
Weinshank holds the USSF 'E' License.
