Men's Swimming Defeats Colby-Sawyer and Gordon

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Maine Maritime Academy men's swimming defeated Colby-Sawyer College 124-86 and Gordon College 131-71 on Saturday afternoon in a double-dual meet at Knight Natatorium.

Austin Wheeler (Snohomish, Wash.) took first in the 1000 yard freestyle and third in the 100 yard backstroke.

Ryan Burke (Lyman, Maine) finished third in the 200 yard freestyle (2:13.37), followed by teammate Keith Jordan (Waltham, Maine) who finished fourth in the same event (2:28.62).

Nathaniel Douglass (Newburyport, Mass.) placed second in the 100 yard backstroke (1:07.24) and third in the 50 yard backstroke (29.86), 

Hayden Sattler (Ellsworth, Maine) picked up the victory in the 50 yard breaststroke (30.95), while teammates Charles Zinni (Brunswick, Maine) and Matthew Link (Sparta, N.J.) finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Sattler finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:08.10), while Zinni finished right behind in second (1:13.58) place. Sattler also placed second in the 100 yard IM (1:06.08).

Noah Peltz (York, Maine) took first in the 50 yard freestyle (23.06), the 100 yard freestyle (51.60), and the 50 yard butterfly (26.22).

The relay team of Jordan, Link, Wheeler and Zinni took first in the 400 yard free relay.

The Mariners conclude their inaugural season and will begin NCAA competition in 2018-19.
