Cross Country Kicks Off Season at UMaine-Farmington Invitational

CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime Cross Country will open up the 2017 season on Saturday, September 2 at the UMaine-Farmington Invitational.

Maine Maritime last competed at this course in 2014, when UMaine-Farmington hosted the State of Maine Championships. Saturday's race will serve as a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) preview, as both teams are running a 5K.

What is Next: On September 9, the Mariners will compete at the University of New England Invitational, before heading to the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on September 16.

On September 23 the Mariners will host the Mariner Invitational at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast, Maine, before traveling to the Bowdoin College Invitational on September 30.

The Mariners will compete at the State of Maine Championships hosted by the University of Southern Maine on October 14 and will race at the North Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by UMaine-Farmington on October 28.

The Mariners will compete at the ECAC Championships on November 4 and wrap up the 2017 season at the NCAA Division III Northeast Regionals in Gorham, Maine on November 11.

Captains: The men's cross country team will be led by captains: Anthony Boucher (Byron, Maine), Zachary Kinsman (Lebanon, N.H.), and Seth Tacheny (Carthage, Maine), while the women's team will be lead by captains: Charlette Bradley (Slidell, La.), Julia Dillon (Norway, Maine), and Mary Shea (Brownfield, Maine).
