Wolf Leads Maine Maritime to Second Place Finish at Mariner Invitational

BELFAST, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country finished second, out of seven teams, at Saturday's Mariner Invitational at the Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast, Maine.

Sophomore Aylen Wolf (Surry, Maine) led the Mariners with a fourth place finish out of the 61 runners with a time of 17:21.3 on the 5K course. Reigning North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week Joseph Van Ess (Mechanicsville, Va.) finished sixth with a time of 17:28.4, followed by teammate Liam Veverka (Hancock, N.H.) in seventh place (18:07.3). Cole Brundige (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) finished 16th overall with a time of 18:54 and Keenan Martin (Dixfield, Maine) rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners with a time of 20:10.9 in 22nd place.

UMaine Farmington captured the team victory with a score of 49, while UMF's Osman Doorow finished first overall with a time of 16:11.2.

The Mariners return to action next Saturday, September 15 at the UMass.-Dartmouth Invitational.
