DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country placed 30th out of 41 teams at Saturday's 46th Annual UMass Dartmouth Men's Cross Country Invitational.
The Mariners were led by Aylen Wolf (Surry, Maine) who finished 117th out of 295 runners. Wolf completed the 8K course with a time of 27:52.9, followed closely by Joseph Van Ess (Mechanicsville, Va.) in 124th place with a time of 28:01.85. Liam Veverka (Hancock, N.H.) finished 213th with a time of 30:56.08, Cole Brundige (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) followed just behind in 214th with a time of 30:56.08 and Keenan Martin (Dixfield, Maine) rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners in 253rd place with a time of 33:07.56.
Southern New Hampshire claimed three of the top seven individual spots to take top team honor and Plymouth State's Sam Brunette took top individual honors in the event, covering the 8K layout in a time of 24:32.02.
Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday, September 22 at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College.
