BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country placed 45th out of 58 teams at Saturday's NCAA DIII New England Regional Championship hosted by Bowdoin College.
Aylen Wolf (Surry, Maine) placed 171st out of the 391 runners, the highest finish by a Maine Maritime runner since 2014, completing the 8K course in 28:19.92.
Joseph Van Ess (Mechanicsville, Va.) placed 238th with a time of 29:25.85, followed by Liam Veverka (Hancock, N.H.) in 265th (30:02.35) and Cole Brundige (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) in 286th place (30:36.14). Keenan Martin (Dixfield, Maine) rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners in 324th place with a time of 32:04.76.
Amherst claimed the team victory, placing five runners in the top 20, with a team score of 65, followed by Williams in second with an 86.
Plymouth State's Sam Brunnette claimed the top time for the second year in a row, finishing the course in 24:55.97.
