Mariners Place 12th at Suffolk Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country team placed 12th out of 24 teams at Saturday's Suffolk Invitational in Franklin Park.

Sophomore John Hassett (Castine, Maine) placed 15th out of 245 runners on the 8k course with a time of 27:08.2. Junior Aylen Wolf (Surry, Maine) placed 57th with a time of 28:29.7.

Freshman Benjamin Butterfield (Phillips, Maine) came in 87th place with a time of 29:29.1, while sophomore Liam Veverka (Hancock, N.H.) finished 98th with a time of 29:.48.5. Freshman William Procko (Branford, Fla.) rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners, placing 133rd with a time of 31:05.0.

University of Southern Maine finished in first place with a score of 47, Stevens Institute placed second with a score of 73, and Colby-Sawyer rounded out the top three with a score of 123. Suffolk University's Matyas Csiki-Fejer was the top overall finisher with a time of 26:03.7.

The Mariners return to action Saturday, October 26, when the travel to race in the Bowdoin Invitational II, scheduled for 12:00 PM in Brunswick, Maine.
