BOSTON, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country team placed 12th out of 24 teams at Saturday's Suffolk Invitational in Franklin Park.
Freshman Benjamin Butterfield (Phillips, Maine) came in 87th place with a time of 29:29.1, while sophomore Liam Veverka (Hancock, N.H.) finished 98th with a time of 29:.48.5. Freshman William Procko (Branford, Fla.) rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners, placing 133rd with a time of 31:05.0.
University of Southern Maine finished in first place with a score of 47, Stevens Institute placed second with a score of 73, and Colby-Sawyer rounded out the top three with a score of 123. Suffolk University's Matyas Csiki-Fejer was the top overall finisher with a time of 26:03.7.
The Mariners return to action Saturday, October 26, when the travel to race in the Bowdoin Invitational II, scheduled for 12:00 PM in Brunswick, Maine.
