Hassett Guides Mariners at NCAA Regionals

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country placed 29th out of 54 teams at Saturdays NCAA Regionals, hosted by Bowdoin College.

Sophomore John Hassett (Castine, Maine) was the Mariners top finisher placing 58th out of the 384 runner field with a time of 26:13.59 on the 8k course, sophomore Joseph Van Ess (Mechanicsville, Va.) placed 172nd with a time of 27:53.41.

Junior Aylen Wolf (Surry, Maine) crossed the finish line in 176th with a time of 27:55.84, while sophomore Liam Veverka (Hancock, N.H.) placed 254th with a time of 29:07.58. Freshman William Procko (Branford, Fla.) rounded out the Mariners top five finishers, placing 271st with a time of 29:31.38.

Williams College was the top overall team, placing five runners in the top 10 for a team score of 24.

Williams' Aidan Ryan claimed the top individual finisher with at time of 24:51.56, while teammate Ryan Cox placed second with at time of 24:55.40.
