RYC Rockland Solstice Race

Last weekend the Maine Maritime Summer Sailing Program competed in the Rockland Solstice Race hosted by the Rockland Yacht Club. After a slow start, the team was able to capitalize on light winds to overtake most of the fleet, finishing 2nd overall on a shortened course.

Sailors included: Nerissa Cyr '19, Pit; Katelyn Smith '20, Driver; Madison Reckman '20, Main Trim; Bob Hanley '73, Jib Trim; Brittany Bridgham '13, Navigator/Bow; Anna Sirois University of St Thomas '20, Jib Trim; and JM Payne, MMA Sailing Master, Tactics/Coach.

The Summer Sailing Program is actively campaigning our new-to-us Sydney 38, Tasman, in the Gulf of Maine Ocean Racing Association Race Series. The team plans to compete in Belfast for the PHRF State Championships on July 14 and 15.
