BRUNSWICK, Maine – Senior Megan McLean (Eliot, Maine) scored a career-high 23 points to lead Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball to a commanding 87-37 victory over Cedar Crest College in game two of the Bowdoin Invitational inside of Morrell Gymnasium.
How it Happened: The Mariners held the Falcons to single digits in three of the four quarters, on their way to the dominating non-conference victory.
Inside the Numbers: McLean led all players with 23 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Melinda Ogden (Searsport, Maine) tallied 14 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals, while both Alayne Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.) and Morgan Boudreau (Benton, Maine) contributed 10 points. Felix added five rebounds, three steals and an assist and Boudreau chipped in with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Mackenzie Borger led the Falcons with nine points and a rebound, while Meghan Gregory added a game-high seven rebounds to go along with six points, two blocks and a steal.
The Mariners shot 47.4 percent from the floor, while Cedar Crest shot 29.5 percent. Maine Maritime held a 44-37 advantage in rebounds, and only committed 10 turnovers while the Falcons turned the ball over 33 times.
Up Next: The Mariners improve to 7-2 overall, while the Falcons dip to 2-9 on the season. Maine Maritime will face #1 Bowdoin College in the championship game of the Bowdoin Invitational tomorrow at 4:00 pm.
