Series History: This is the first-ever meeting between the Mariners and the Kangaroos. 

Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball fell to #1 Bowdoin College, 94-43 on Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the Bowdoin Invitational inside of Morrell Gymnasium.

The two teams battled back-and-fourth in the first quarter, until the Polar Bears used a seven point run to take a 15-6 lead with 1:32 remaining. The Mariners fought back with four straight points to close out the quarter down by 15-10.

Bowdoin scored 17 unanswered points to open up the second half and took a 36-19 lead into halftime.

The Polar Bears outscored the Mariners 58-24, in the final two quarters to claim the victory.

Alayne Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.) led the Mariners with 17 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and a block to earn All-Tournament honors. Morgan Boudreau (Benton, Maine) added seven points, three rebounds and a steal.

Abby Kelly tallied a game-high 19 points to lead the Polar Bears, while also adding five steals, four rebounds, two assists and a block. Hannah Graham contributed 13 points, three rebounds and a steal and Taylor Choate chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds, an assist and a steal. 

The Polar Bears shot 48.4 percent from the floor, while the Mariners shot 27.1 percent. The Polar Bears held a 40-36 edge in rebounds.

SUNY Canton's Last Game: Jenifer Morgan-Aubin posted a game-high 19 points and Antanasia Chambers nearly recorded a triple-double as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team closed out 2018 with a 56-53 win v. Oswego State in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. 

Morgan-Aubin tallied 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting with six rebounds and a game-high four steals. Chambers totaled 15 points, nine rebounds, seven assist and three steals. Breanna Cullers and Autumn Watkins chipped in 10 and nine points, respectively. 

Morgan-Aubin led all players with 12 points in the opening half, while Chambers tallied eight. Britton paced the Lakers with 10.

SUNY Canton hauled down 16 rebounds in the opening half leading to 15 second chance points. There were five ties and four lead changes in the opening 20 minutes.

The Roos stormed out of intermission on an 8-0 run that included three layups and a pair of free throws. 

Canton extended its lead to as many as 42-32 in the third quarter but the Lakers closed the stanza strong as the hosts led 45-43 headed to the fourth. The Roos led by eight early in the final quarter before an 8-0 run from the Lakers tied the game at 51apiece with 2:31 to play. 

After Chambers split a pair of free throws, Rachael Windhausen found Logan Castiglione inside for a layup and the 53-52 lead. Canton responded when Morgan-Aubin hit Chambers for a layup with 1:22 remaining.

The Lakers missed a layup on their ensuing possession and Morgan-Aubin hit a pair of free throws to extend the lead to three. Oswego State missed a pair of threes down the stretch as SUNY Canton held the visitors scoreless the final 1:38.

Ramatoulaye Sy and Britton paced the Lakers scoring efforts with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Mariners: After 10 games the Mariners average 65.6 points, 44.2 rebounds and 12.5 assists per game, while shooting 37.9 percent from the floor, 25.5 percent from beyond the arc and 66.2 percent from the line.

Alayne Felix leads the Mariners with 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game and Megan McLean (Eliot, Maine) averages a team-best 2.4 assists per game. 

The Kangaroos: After nine games Canton averages 54.6 points, 39.1 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game, while shooting 34.0 percent from the floor, 24.2 percent from three-point land and 70.7 percent from the line.

Antanasia Chambers lead the Kangaroos with 13.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists  per game, both Brenna Cullers and Jenifer Morgan-Aubin average 10 points per game. Cullers and Chambers lead the team with 1.8 steals per game.
