Series History: The Eagles hold a 20-14 all-time advantage over the Mariners, including a 10-6 record when playing at Husson.

Last Meeting: Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball fell to Husson University 76-58 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship game last season on February 24, 2018. 

The Eagles got on the board first but Melinda Ogden (Searsport, Maine) drained a three to give the Mariners 3-2 lead. The two teams exchanged the lead back-and-forth until the Eagles went on a six-point run to take a 10-6 advantage at 6:15. Ogden hit another three to cut the deficit to one, but the Eagles maintained a narrow lead and entered the second quarter with a 16-14 advantage.

Caitlin Kane hit a jumper then connected with Megan McLean (Eliot, Maine) on a three to tie the game at 21-21 at 3:31. Husson took a six-point lead with 1:23 remaining, but a three from Eryn Doiron (Wilton, Maine) cut the Eagles' lead to three entering halftime.

The Mariners tied the game at 29-29 to open up the third quarter, and took a 34-33 lead following a tradition three-point play from Felix at 7:05. The two teams exchanged the lead back-and-forth until the Eagles went on a 11-3 run to close out the third and took a 49-45 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Eagles went on a seven-point run late in the fourth and outscored the Mariners 27-13 in the fourth quarter, including going 6-for-6 from the line in the final minute, to secure the victory.

Alayne Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.) led the Mariners with 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Doiron ended the afternoon with 11 points, two rebounds and an assist and Ogden added nine points, three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal.

Sami Ireland led the Eagles with 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks, Kenzie Worcester added 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block, and Joan Overman contributed 11 points, three assists, two steals and an assist. Anna MacKenzie and Logan Huckins added 10 points each.

The Eagles shot 48.9 percent from the floor, while the Mariners shot 30.3 percent. The two teams were deadlocked with 37 rebounds each. 

Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball secured the season sweep over SUNY Canton with a 64-48 victory in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon at the Stan Cohen Court. 

The Mariners outscored the Kangaroos 13-7 in the first quarter and 27-11 in the second to take a 40-18 lead at halftime.

Canton outscored the Mariners 17-7 in the third quarter but the Mariners held on in the fourth quarter, shooting 44.4 percent from the floor.

Megan McLean led the Mariners with a game-high 14 points, six assists, three rebounds, and a steal and Morgan Boudreau (Benton, Maine) added 13 points, five rebounds, and four steals.

Eryn Doiron pulled down a game-high nine rebounds to go along with six assists, four points and a steal. 

Sade Rogers led Canton with 13 points, four assists and two rebounds and Tyberia Wallace contributed 12 points, a rebound and a steal.

The Mariners shot 37.3 percent from the floor, while the Kangaroos shot 28.6 percent. Maine Maritime held a 41-36 advantage in rebounds. 

Husson University's Last Game: The Husson University Eagles dropped a non-conference women's basketball game to #1/#1 Bowdoin Polar Bears, 86-48, on Tuesday evening inside Newman Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears started the game on a 9-0 run before Logan Huckins put the Eagles on the board with a made layup with 4:57 left in the first quarter. Two made free throws and a made 3-point shot by Kenzie Worcester closed the Bowdoin lead to nine with 2:18 remaining in the quarter but the Polar Bears closed out the quarter on an 8-2 run for a 24-11 advantage after the first quarter. 

Bowdoin extended their lead to 20 off a made layup by Abby Kelly, two made free throws from Hannah Graham and a three pointer by Annie Boasberg before Vanessa Duarte ended the Polar Bear run with her own three off a nice assist by Worcester with 7:52 left in the first half. The Polar Bears closed out the second quarter on a 17-11 run to take a 48-25 lead into the intermission.

Bowdoin cruised the rest of the way for the victory. 

Worcester finished the game with 13 points, three boards, two assists, a block and a steal. Megan Peach recorded her second double-double of the season with ten points and ten rebounds, while adding two blocks. Duarte contributed nine points off the bench. 

Taylor Choate led all scorers with 15 points, while adding six boards, three assists and steals. Kelly added 13 points, five boards and two assists. Boasberg lead the Polar Bear bench with 14 points. 

The Mariners: After 12 games the Mariners average 64.9 points, 43.2 rebounds and 13 assists per game, while shooting 37.7 percent from the floor, 26.7 percent from beyond the arc and 65.0 percent from the line.

Alayne Felix leads the Mariners with 14.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game and Megan McLean averages a team-best 2.7 assists per game. 

The Eagles: After 13 games the Eagles average 68.0 points, 42.5 rebounds and 14.5 assists per game, while shooting 41.3 percent from the floor, 33.0 percent from three-point land and 67 percent from the line.

Kenzie Worcester leads the Eagles with 19.1 points, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game and Sami Ireland averages 11.2 points per game, while leading the team with 7.5 rebounds per game. Megan Peach leads the team with 2.1 blocks per game.
