Series History: The Mariners are 7-0 all-time against the Bengals, with all seven matchups happening in Castine.

Last Meeting: The two teams last faced off on January 31, 2017. The Mariners came away with the 83-35 victory inside of Smith Gymnasium. 

The Mariners jumped out to a 6-0 lead following threes from Kristi Willey and Melinda Ogden (Searsport, Maine) and never looked back. Maine Maritime held the Bengals to just eight points in the first quarter and seven points in the second quarter to take a commanding 46-15 lead into halftime.

Ogden led the Mariners with nine points in the first 20 minutes of play, while Savana Jankowski led the Bengals, also with nine points. 

Maine Maritime held the Bengals to just 20 points in the second half, cruising to the 83-35 victory.

Odgen scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Mariners, while also pulling down six rebounds, dishing out four assists, and tallying two steals and a block. Alex Winchester finished just shy of the double-double with a 11 points and nine assists and Alayne Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.) rounded out the Mariners in double-digits with 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks. 

Janokowski finished the evening with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block to lead the Bengals. Ashley Sauri led UMaine-Fort Kent with seven rebounds, and Bianca Gutierrez led the team with four assists. 

Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball cruised to a 64-39 victory over Thomas College last Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) inside of Smith Gymnasium. 

The Mariners controlled the first quarter, until the Terriers went on a five-point run to close the gap to 13-10 at the end of the quarter. The Mariners outscored the Terriers 18-9 in the second quarter to take a commanding 32-18 lead into halftime. 

The Terriers hung with the Mariners in the third quarter, but Maine Maritime maintained a double-figure lead and held the visitors to only five points in the fourth to claim the victory.

Melinda Ogden led all players with 15 points and added six rebounds, an assist and a steal, while Megan McLean (Eliot, Maine) contributed 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Kaylee Ravagli was the only Terrier to reach double-digits with 10 points, three rebounds and three steals.

The Mariners shot 38.0 percent from the floor, while the Terriers shot 25.0 percent. Maine Maritime held a big advantage on the glass, outrebounding Thomas, 52-24. 

UMaine-Fort Kent's Last Game: The Bengals defeated SUNY-Cobleskill 82-48 on Sunday afternoon. 

Trinity Washington led the Bengals with 18 points, four steals and three assists. Alyse Kline added 17 points, five rebounds, six steals and two blocks. Micayela Hernandez contributed 16 points, five assists, two steals and a block and Tajaheray McMahan tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists, while also pulling down eight rebounds and six steals. Ivette Trujillo rounded out the Bengals in double-digits with 12 points, two rebounds and three steals. 

The Bengals shot 53.3 percent from the floor, while the Fighting Tigers shot 43.8 percent. Cobleskill held a narrow 25-24 edge in rebounds. 

The Mariners: After 17 games the Mariners average 62.8 points, 42.0 rebounds and 12.7 assists per game, while shooting 37.3 percent from the floor, 26.9 percent from behind the arc and 66.1 percent from the line. 

Alayne Felix leads the Mariners with 13.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and Eryn Doiron (Wilton, Maine) leads the team with 1.4 steals per game and Megan McLean averages a team-best 2.4 assists per game. 

The Bengals: After 22 games the Bengals average 74.3 points, 40.1 rebounds and 18.8 assists per game, while shooting 41.9 percent from the floor, 27.5 percent from behind the arc and 69.5 percent from the line.

Tajaheray McMahan leads the team with 18.6 points per game, Trinity Washington averages 15 points per game while leading the team with 10.2 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 5.5 steals per game and Ivette Trujillo averages 10 points per game.
