Season Opener: The Mariners will open up their season at the Keene State Tip-Off Tournament this Friday, November 9 at 5:30 pm against Newbury College and will take on either Keene State or Anna Maria on Saturday, November 10.
History against Newbury College: The Mariners are 2-0 all-time against Newbury College, with both wins coming in 2000. The Mariners defeated Newbury 73-53 on December 3, 2000 and again on December 10, 63-45.
Looking Ahead to the 2018-19 Season: The Mariners return all three of their top scorers from last season, including First Team All-Conference selection Alayne Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.), who returns for her senior season after leading the Mariners with 16.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game and ranking among the top in a number of categories in the conference.
Melinda Ogden (Searsport, Maine) returns for her junior season after averaging 9.2 points per game last season and Megan McLean (Eliot, Maine) enters her senior year after averaging 7.1 points per game and leading the team with 3.3 assists per game and a 86.1 free throw percentage.
The Mariners have a competitive non-conference schedule including games against NESCAC schools Bowdoin and Amherst, the two teams who appeared in the DIII Championship game, as well as Saint Joseph's College of Maine, three teams that are nationally ranked in a number of preseason polls. With a new group of talented freshmen and no roster losses to graduation, the Mariners look to return to the NAC Championship game.
The Mariners will host UMaine-Fort Kent on Tuesday, November 27 for their home opener at 5:30 pm.
Conference Play: The Mariners will open up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Friday, November 30 at NVU-Johnson.
The Coach: Craig Dagan returns for his 18th season as Head Coach of the Mariners (20-8, 13-5 NAC). Dagan boasts a career record of 289-170.
NAC Preseason Poll: Maine Maritime was selected to finish second in the NAC, receiving three first place votes, behind defending NAC Champion, Husson University. The Eagles and Mariners faced off for the NAC title last season.

Looking Back at 2017-18: Last season the Mariners posted a 20-8 overall record, and went 13-5 against conference opponents. Maine Maritime entered the NAC Tournament for the 21st-consecutive season. The fourth-seeded Mariners defeated Lyndon State College (now NVU-Lyndon) in the NAC Semifinals, before upsetting the top-seeded Castleton University Spartans on their home court to advance to the NAC Finals against Husson. The Mariners recorded their first 20-win season since 2006-2007 and first NAC Championship appearance since 2007-2008.
