BANGOR, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer fell to Husson University 1-0, on Saturday evening in North Atlantic Conference play.
Following two free-kick opportunities for the Mariners that went high, the Eagles snuck a goal in at 14:00 when Maddie Page connected with teammate Taylor Fortin.
Ten minutes later the Mariners had a scoring chance, but Allison Boulier's (Bangor, Maine) shot hit off the cross bar, keeping the deficit at one.
The Mariners continued to battle, narrowly outshooting the Eagles 13-12 on the evening, but could not find the back of the net.
Maggie McConkey (Fryeburg, Maine) tallied nine saves in goal for the Mariners, while Husson's Kayla Gordon stopped all four shots she faced.
Maine Maritime falls to 5-5-1 on the season and 3-2 in the NAC, while the Eagles improve to 6-5 on the season and 5-1 in the conference. The Mariners return to action on Monday when they travel to Gordon College for a non-conference matchup at 3:30 pm.
