HENNIKER, N.H. – Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer fell to New England College 3-1 on Saturday, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action.
Michaela Pomeroy scored first for the Pilgrims in the second minute but Eryn Doiron (Wilton, Maine) evened things up in the 22nd minute capitalizing on a Pilgrim turnovers.
The Pilgrims broke the tie in the 37th minute on a goal from Jaycie Triandafilou following a free kick, and Sara Locke added an insurance goal in the 71st minute to secure the 3-1 victory for NEC.
Emily Conway (Charleston, S.C.) tallied four saves in the loss for Maine Maritime, while Kayla Pugliese stopped three shots in the victory for the Pilgrims.
The Mariners fall to 2-6 on the season, and 1-2 in the conference, while the Pilgrims improve to 2-6-1 overall and 1-2 in the NAC. Maine Maritime returns to action tomorrow Sunday, September 24 when they host Wheaton College for a non-conference match.
