CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy's Makayla Lewis (Purcellville, Va.) has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week while teammate Susana DeFrank (Temecula, Calif.) has been tabbed the NAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Lewis helped lead Maine Maritime to a 2-1 week, totaling four goals and three assists over the three-game week, while landing 55.6 percent of her shots on goal. In the Mariners' 6-1 victory over Massachusetts Maritime, the senior tallied a hat trick, the fourth of her career, and dished out an assist. Lewis followed that up on Saturday in the 4-0 shutout of Nichols College with a goal and two assists.
DeFrank helped lead the Mariners to a 2-1 week and was instrumental in holding opponents over the weekend to just one goal. She helped lead the Mariners to a 6-1 win over Massachusetts Maritime and a 4-0 shutout over Nichols College on Sunday, where she registered an assist.
